Springfield – State Sen. Chuck Weaver (R-Peoria) has been recognized by the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) for his leadership and voting record in support of Illinois businesses.
“We have to protect and grow jobs if we ever want to grow our struggling state economy,” said Sen. Weaver. “The manufacturing sector provides good-paying, stable jobs that are so important to the health of our economy.”
The TMA has given Sen. Weaver a perfect score of 100 for his voting record in support of the manufacturing sector. He is one of only three sitting Senators to receive a 100 lifetime voting score.
"Pro-manufacturing leadership is too rare in Springfield today, so it's especially heartening to see new leaders in Springfield like Senator Weaver who are clearly dedicated to supporting Illinois' manufacturing resurgence, proven by his perfect rating in TMA's 2017 Legislative Scorecard. With more leadership like this, we can keep more businesses, opportunities, jobs and workforce in the Land of Lincoln," said Steve Raushenberger, President of the Technology & Manufacturing Association.
During his short time in the Illinois Senate, Senator Weaver has already been recognized for his leadership by a variety of organizations that represent groups ranging from farmers to small businesses.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for our work in the Senate, but the real rewards are positive changes we are able to create for the people of Illinois,” said Sen. Weaver.
